Michael Walsh

Board Member

Michael Walsh is a Master’s Level Certified Addiction Professional and Certified Intervention Professional with extensive knowledge, experience and understanding of the treatment industry from pre-admission/Intervention through the admissions process, case management, client services and continuing care coordination for patients and alumni. He has also worked extensively in the area of post discharge monitoring for licensed professionals and others.

He holds a Master’s Degree in Substance Abuse Counseling and is a Certified Intervention Professional. He has been involved with treatment for all ages – from adolescents to older adults. Collegiate Recovery has been a big part of his career and he has helped numerous young adults and their families navigate the process from Intervention and Treatment through early recovery and transition back to school.

Michael has worked in various capacities for and with most of the premier facilities in the addiction treatment industry as an employee, consultant, and an independent contractor for over two decades. He is the former President/CEO of The National Association of Addiction Treatment Providers (NAATP).  As the leader of NAATP he served as a liaison to the American Society of Addiction Medicine, IC and RC the Parity Implementation Coalition and work closely with the Joint Commission and CARF. He has presented at many national and international conferences, Colleges/Universities, High Schools and community functions as both a Treatment Professional and as a person in long term recovery.

He lives in Scottsdale, Arizona and is currently the President/CEO of Duke Behavioral Health a consulting, intervention and coaching company with offices in Lake Worth, Fl and Scottsdale, AZ, and a current C4 Recovery Foundation and FARR (Florida Association of Recovery Residences) board member.
